Rover: Act II

Rover had multiple fractures of his pelvis.

The healing process begins.

Honestly, it’s a miracle that Rover looks as good as he does and gets around so well, considering the sorry state of his pelvis! The fractures look a lot worse than he does! If Rover did not look so good, so happy, and so at ease, we might have taken a different course. But Rover looked like he was good to go, and without a doubt, this dog is sweet sweet sweet! So we had Rover’s injury evaluated by a vet, who recommended a procedure known as a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to give him long term pain relief. Rover handled the surgery like a trooper and got neutered to boot. He has a bit of a recovery ahead of him, and our hope is that we don’t need Act III, so we will be keeping a close eye on him. And in the meantime, he will be mending and we will be looking for a great adopter or rescue! Bring on the weim fans!
