Eleven Cats A’fixin!
And that’s not all!
It’s hard to believe, but there isn’t enough money in the budget to get all the animals that come through CCAC fixed. Sterilization is so fundamental in controlling the animal population, and it’s the shelter’s legal and moral obligation to get these animals fixed prior to adoption. In fact, one of the core reasons SCAMP was formed was to make sure there was funding for spay/neuter. We have been fixing animals at a steady trickle, a few dogs here and a cat there, but this week we kicked it up a notch! Eleven cats and four dogs were fixed just this week courtesy of SCAMP! And rabies vaccinations for all! So long as we have the funding, our goal is to aggressively tackle spay neuter which is the most important thing we can do to stem the surplus population of dogs and cats in Cheatham County!
