A Shepherd’s Tail

Erika is on the mend and doing fine!

Sometimes a spay just isn’t enough!

Beautiful, brilliant, playful Erika came to us as a stray, and ultimately surrendered to us by an owner who wanted to give her a better shot at a good life. We loved her from the start. It didn’t take long to notice she had a tail wound when she arrived, and it was worse than we had thought. With exposed bone, she was in need of a partial tail amputation so that it could heal up properly and not cause a deep infection of the bone. We are grateful to have wonderful vets who will work with us and they were able to take care of her tail while she was getting spayed, all in one go. A perfect tuneup for our perfect shepherd girl! SCAMP was happy to help Make It PAWSible!
