Spread the word, dogs need HW prevention!

How can we get the word out? Heartworms are spread by mosquitos, and we have lots of mosquitos carrying heartworms in Tennessee. Dogs need HW prevention year round, even in the winter. Phoebe and Toby both got their heartworms treated in October and paid for by SCAMP. In fact, one of the original reasons SCAMP was formed was to make sure heartworm dogs at the shelter could be treated. There are too many dogs with heartworms in Cheatham County and the government does not have the money for that! SCAMP is here to Make It PAWSible, but it would be even better to prevent dogs from getting heartworms to begin with! Talk to your vet about options.
