Doing our part to control animal overpopulation.

Looking back at 2022, it turns out that half of SCAMP’s spending was used to fix the animals at Cheatham County Animal Control. On the one hand, that doesn’t sound very glamorous. Spay/neuter is so fundamental to the purpose of animal control, that it seems like it should be a basic right for every animal. But the reality is that there is not enough money in the county budget to alter every animal. If it weren’t for donations to SCAMP, the money would not be there. So OK, maybe spay/neuter does not grab headlines like some other news, but maybe it should! Because this is a major accomplishment and the most effective way to decrease the number of homeless animals in Cheatham County!
