Every dog needs prevention year round!

Sargent Avery was not our first heartworm positive dog of 2024, nor will he be the last. The reality is that heartworms are common in Tennessee, and many dogs are not on prevention. If there’s one message we want to spread, it’s please get your dogs checked for heartworms by a vet each year, and get your dogs on prevention. SCAMP spends thousands of dollars on heartworm treatment each year because we want our dogs healthy. The treatment is costly and hard on the dogs. So let’s spread the word that prevention is the way to go!
