Summertime is Busy at Scamp
Summertime at Cheatham County Animal Control means volunteers have many opportunities to participate in multiple adoption events outside the shelter. A lot of planning and effort go into these events - from gathering supplies at the shelter for volunteers to use (like blankets, leashes, treats, adopt me vests, tents, literature, and water) to assessing which dogs will be the most successful in an adoption event environment. We even had art at one of our adoption events (donations to S.C.A.M.P. received a chance to win one of these fabulous pieces by Patricia Walker). As you can see, there are MANY ways to help out as a volunteer even if you can’t make it to the actual event. The shelter started out the summer strong with adoption events at both Green Door Gourmet and Tailgate Brewery - two four-legged friendly venues. These events not only give the animals a well-deserved break from shelter life, they provide a ton of visibility for our organization and the shelter. The dogs also get important opportunities to socialize with people and other dogs. Sometimes, they even get adopted!
At S.C.A.M.P., we are immensely thankful for all of the opportunities in our community to showcase the dogs and cats that are available for adoption. As always, you can find more information and pictures of all our adoptable pets on our Petfinder site.
